Two Fun-filled days of
old-world demonstrations and entertainment The admission button for
2000 features "The Holy City," a striking and literal
interpretation of Revelations 21 and 22, which was
researched and planned by Logan and Helen Reif. After
they decided which gemstones to use, the challenge of
finding them began. Three of the rough gem crystals were
found in Germany, the turquoise came from Arizona, the
emerald from North Carolina, but the majority were found,
cut, polished and engraved by Jimmy Lo of Hong
Kong. A variety of gold was
selected for the city, walls, street and to gild several
areas of the Holy City. The "Tree of Life" was made of
fruitwood with gemstones for its fruit. Logan and Helen
added "The Holy City" display to their spectacular mineral
and gem collection which was given to the Kalona Historical
Society, and established the Reif Mineral Museum, now
located in the new Visitors Center. Admission Adults - $5.00
